Singapore Airshow

SINGAPORE: Like other large-scale events, the Singapore Airshow fell victim to the Covid-19 pandemic. But the show is roaring back with a vengeance in 2024.

Some 50,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the first four days of the event, which is in its ninth edition. It will run from Feb 20 to 25.

Auckland Airport

Air New Zealand says Auckland Airport charges will make travel unaffordable and is taking its long-running battle to the Government. But the airport has hit back, saying the Government should be monitoring Air NZ’s fares and performance.

The airline today (February 21)  lodged an official request with Commerce Minister Andrew Bayly seeking an urgent inquiry into the regulation that is failing to constrain “overspending” by Auckland Airport.

Fiji Airways: Fuel Supply Challenge in Funafuti, Tuvalu.

Fij Airways has released a statement (24 February) noting that 24 hours Funafuti Airport officials have notifiedthe airline that there is less than 1000 liters of fuel available in Tuvalu. it says this situation will directly affect it passenger and baggage capacity, as it will need to carry return fuel from Fiji for all flights to and from Funafuti.  This situation will persist until March 12th by which time a fuel delivery is expected.
