Fiji’s national airline Fiji Airways is eyeing more new routes reports the Fiji Times.
This was disclosed by its chief executive officer Andre Viljoen during his presentation at the Fiji Tourism Convention 2024 held in Nadi last week.
“So, you can see within our radar we have got Delhi, obviously Mumbai will be in there, Seoul, Shanghai, Salt Lake City, Chicago, New York, Bogota, Santiago, Perth, Cairns, Gold Coast Hobart, Queenstown and Dunedin,” he said.
“All this are in our radar and are constantly being evaluated.”
Meanwhile, Viljoen said the airline has grown in the number of women employed.
“The airline industry at the last IATA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) had targeted by 2025 to have at least 25 per cent of the employees of the airline to be women.
“I’m pleased to announce that we are really at 46 per cent of women employees.
“I must admit that at senior levels, we have work to do and certainly in employee groups like pilots, there is a lot of work to do.
“But it is a focus and game changer strategy we have set ourselves,” he said.
